Usecase: In the event that your account was compromised, a side-effect is an 'email rule' being created that sends your incoming emails to the delete folder. This becomes apparent when you've noticed that no new emails are being received. 


In a case like this... You must:


  • Reset your password and do a virus scan
  • Then, you must delete any and all rules that are diverting your emails from your inbox.


Here's how...


Note: You may be prompted to login if you are not already logged into your Gov't Office365 Outlook account.


  1. Go to https://outlook.office.com/owa/?realm=vi.gov&path=/options/inboxrules
  2. Click the garbage can icon at the far left of each rule with settings that divert/delete emails

Finally...


Navigate to your Deleted Items folder: https://outlook.office.com/mail/deleteditems?realm=vi.gov 


  1. Select the checkbox next to Deleted Items to select all deleted emails
  2. Click "Recover items deleted from this folder" (See screenshot below)
